A former cookbook editor, I recently stumbled upon the field of massage therapy. The tangible before-and-after within a massage session, my clients’ personal sorrows and victories, the helpful community of my coworkers and their wisdom…together, it’s like a book too good to put down.
So, what is this blog about? It’s what a new-ish massage therapist (that’s me!) encounters and learns–about massage therapy, about the nature of people, about life–as she goes about her daily business in her spa career. In this blog, I share experiences and lessons learned from my often awkward, quirky point of view. I hope you enjoy the ride along with me as I grow.
Disclaimer time: For one thing, the editor part of me will probably never go away. For better or for worse, what you read on this site is a work in progress, always. That means I’ll probably change the wording of something between the time it first posts and…well, each time I revisit the post. It’s an awful habit of mine. I just can’t let go. I hope this doesn’t negatively affect your experience here.
I should also mention that I’m still very new to WordPress. I have a vision for how I want my blog to look, but I can’t quite get there. I apologize for its clunkiness…that’s just a reflection of my ineptitude. I’ll get there (in like five years)…but if you have any savvy tips that will help my blog’s layout, I’d love to hear from you.
One last thing: you’ll find me referencing Buddhist concepts and quotes from time to time. I’m a practitioner of Nichiren Buddhism, and its lingo has become embedded in me. If anything is unclear, please let me know. Or, take a look at http://www.sgi.org or http://www.sgi-usa.org for more information.
Thank you for visiting!
